Be Green, Think Clean!

Recycling-Logo

So it’s a huge problem for lan raiders – rubbish!

Every lan, a staff member ends up taking 8-10 bags of rubbish home, because of people not recycling. If we did recycle, we could leave the bags at the hall and save all the staff members a lot of hassle, along with reducing the time it takes to clear up at the end of the event.

So this lan were doing a big push for people to recycle. green bags for recycling, black bags for normal rubbish (including any metalica cd’s).

Any rule breakers shall face the wrath of a technique known as “foot to the balls/va-jay-jay” :)

Haha…haven’t seen that film for a while! Anyway…back on track. If everyone took 5-10 mins to put their rubbish in the right bin / bag then it makes life easier for everyone :)

I dont think this bolg applies to me, which is good I guess.

In the case of the last lan I bought one cup with me, and used the plastic knives and forks and just washed the single set I had. :-)

I do agree that it would be good to put it in a bag to recycle, however I dont see how this would affect the number of bags or rubbish / recyclable stuff being taken home.

If the rubbish was split into recyclables and regular rubbish it means that no one has to take any bags home, and it can all be put in the bins out the back of the venue. Unfortunately they don’t allow us to mix rubbish in the bins which makes everything a lot more complicated

@Mike, ah ok! Fair enough … Good idea … Go for it!
    Go.. Go… Go!

if we’re going to do this, we need a couple of bins. one for rubbish, one for plastics, one for glass, one for paper / card, and one for cans. at least it doesnt need to be sorted at the end then.

it’ll be fine splitting cans bottles from the cardboard, its just not nice splitting the recyclables from the waste rubbish and food etc
