At CES there’s always lot of great invention and pieces of tech but really we are all wanting to get a glimpse of the next line of PC gaming tools and toys and I promise to not mention 3D Gaming.

Laptops/Netbooks

iBuyPower’s multi-touch laptop

Despite multi-touch being a native feature of Windows 7, not too many Win7 device’s support the OS’s multi-touch features. Gaming PC maker iBuyPower wants to make an exception with its new line of Battalion Touch gaming laptops. While only the upcoming RTS game R.U.S.E. is scheduled to support multi-touch, I expect more PC game titles will add support in the future.

Dell/Alienware’s M11x gaming PC netbook

My favourite item from CES this year by a long way is this Alienware gaming Netbook, yes i said netbook it’s designed with only pc gaming in mind it has an 11.6-inch screen, and weighs less than 2 kg and it sport’s an Nvidia G335M 1Gig which is more than alot of PC’s at our Lans, 6.5hrs and the ability to switch to a lower voltage processor for browsing etc to save your battery life.

Id quite like one of these and im sure we will see more gaming notebooks in the next year.

 Periphirals

Gambridge Z-1 hybrid guitar/controller

It’s a digital gaming guitar and it’s not a guitar controller it’s actually an electronic guitar and a controller all in one, quite a genious piece of kit this could be good fun once you’ve run out of song on Rockband or Guitar Hero

Mad Catz’s new Cyborg R.A.T PC gaming mice

There’s always some new PC mouse that’s being designed for “gamers” but more times than not it’s usually just marketing tool. That may or may not be the case with Mad Catz’s new Cybord R.A.T. line, out this spring, the mouse will have fully adjustable bodies that will allow for more customization, Hopefully is more than a gimmick becasue ive never come across a good “gaming” mouse all we need is high sensitvity mouse

Razer’s motion-sensing PC controller

Except the Alienware M11x announcement, the most exciting PC gaming hardware reveal was Razer’s plans to launch a motion-sensing PC game controller later this year. This device doesn’t use Accelerometers like phones and Wiimotes it uses a Magnetic device that does the same thing much more accurately I don’t know if there will be a much of a market for a device, but it’s certainly something to look forward to trying in 2010, Modern Warfare 2 using motion controls could be interesting.

Some interesting things coming this year and I would like to see whats going to develop from these items over the rest of the year.
