Offline1) Enjoyable, more social. Noise wasn't a big problem but when it *was* loud, it was clear who it was (Ironic from the guy playing Death Metal from laptop speakers, I know)
2) Nice, the parties next door were pretty loud, which was ironic since we were asked to keep noise levels down, but the staff we encountered were talkative and interested, which was nice. he availability of the various toilets, and a kitchen you don't need an engineering degree to operate was also a nice feature
3) "Mike, you going to Burger King? Miiiiike, miiiiiike"
4) Not locking Craig in the chair cupboard on the first night. Also, somebody rinsing the entire box of Mountain Dew I had in the fridge. Thievery isn't cool and it seems several people had the same thing happen to them
5) Possibly something for projecting onto? Idk, nothing major tbh.
6) Nothing comes to mind
7) Easier to get to, nicer area, nicer facilities. Nice job

Offline1) A really enjoyable lan.
2) Much nicer than old venue, more space, warmer, bigger fridge, easier to use oven, nice pub down the road and closer to my house.
3) Going to the pub on saturday and Magicka was a laugh.
4) The slow internet speeds and steam being crap.
5) More organised games, more stuff on the projector and faster internet if possible.
6) Not that I can think of.
7) Mike likes dinner.

Offline1) atmos was good and it felt good to get the gang back together still can't belive it's been a year dose not feel like it
2) Ok well I loved the new place not quite as out of the way (I kinda liked being out in the sticks felt like a secret party) but yes needs must when the old venue spits in our faces.
Loved the new kitchen fridge ect even tho we were in a box room not a hall it did feel large
3) The fact that we had shops/ fast food ect at a pinch and american candy like 5 mins away LOL. Ohh and martin getting more and more worked up during our games :)
4)the lack of any internet making playing L4D2 almost a imposible task 2 meg internet for 20 or so gamers is not good :(.
People talking way to loud at like 3 AM ok i can undertsand we all like up to stay up late when we are stocked up on Dew and Doc P but when 90 percent of people are trying to sleep and some of those people new to the lan (we are trying to keep them comming guys) who have been working all day are kept up by loud somtimes offensive chatter that could be done with just comming closer and quiter to each other it really flared quite a few of us who were trying to sleep up
5) ok really 2 things one and i know this is a mute point as i know this lan was not going to have them but Ill say it anyway. We really need tornys and events the lack of anything regulars and again new people to get ready for train to win for or just get swept into like i did when i first started comming to lans with trackmaina (regas hyperness for his torny will allways make me pick up a pad and try and win even if i suck lol) was really glaring this lan
6) well I was thinking as we have a table setup now with 4 people on it and a lovly projector how abaout somthing to get us a bit more interacting with each other maybe a funny quizz as its a perfect layout for a pub style quizz thing maybe theamed on gamesor maybe on our Lan sence of humor XD would also get nebes somthing to lean or talk to new people somthing that was hard under the current setup
7) not really just that its good to be back at the lans the last year was not the same without them being able to get away and see friends who i don't get to see much and have some of the best times with you all is somthing im so glad to have back. Ohh and Iv heard MIKE LIKES DINNERS !!!

Offline1) Absolutely fantastic, can't wait for the next one!
2) Hadn't seen the old one but its well placed, spacious, very decent kitchen, easy access and the inbuilt bar was a nice touch!
3) Top notch gigabit network (once the cabling was sorted – nice job guys ^_^), good atmosphere and a decent hall!
4) 2MB internet shared between 20 people all on steam kinda failed :/ Maybe ask them to get a decent contract before next time? ;) Maybe a curfew cut off at around 3am or something as even when it was obvious everyone was trying to sleep a couple of people were shouting rather loudly.. (not really a moan but maybe next time a bit less would be sweet)
5) As above with the internet and maybe a proper projector screen/
6) Tournaments! And lots of them :D If you can put up a list of games that you intend to hold tournaments for before we go then everyone can get patched and buy the games they need ready for some serious gaming.. maybe a £10-£20 prize money for the winner overall over all the games? Would only be an extra £1… I'd certainly pay it. Also – I've heard about spectator mode on the projector.. thats an AWESOME idea, could we bring that back? If I'm not playing I'd certainly watch it!
7) Bloody great LAN guys, thought it was brilliant and everyone was awesome.. bring on J11!!!
Could we get stickers for our PCs like before? :P

Offline1) Overall feeling about J10:
I wanted to go!
2) What you thought about the new venue:
Looks pretty good looking at it through a cam.
3) Favourite part / feature / aspect:
Seeing people have a laugh, playing games and getting pissed up
4) Least favourite part / feature / aspect:
I wasnt there.
5) Things you would like to see improved / changed the most:
Me, vince and liam getting there next time.
Hope my input helps :)
1) best lan so far! the atmosphere was pretty good this time, not as much fail with steam defo helped towards this!
2) nice improvement from the last one, more space, nicer facilities, and not in the middle of nowhere.. as said by others though the net was a bit of a let down.. but atleast we were all able to use steam this time
3) well were not in the middle of nowhere now, so its not a 40 min drive to get to some decent shops or the town centre. and the network seemed less over worked this time, i suppose thats what happens when there is only 20 of us, but hey was nice to actually get certain games and files within the hour of wanting them
4) i know im being a complete hypocrite here.. but seriously noise lol.. i know im damned loud, but i dont start blasting my mouth off at 3am..
the internet was a tad slow for 20 people to be using it simultaneously, but cant really complain because steam was working well enough for once!
also lack of tournaments
5) TOURNAMENTS!!!!!! you guys should come up with a "STFU" time for the evening or something, as i said above 3am is a bit of a retarded time for people to be giving others headaches
6) i agree with kao, a decent projector screen would be nice, i know there wasnt much problem with it running off of the wall, but its a bit odd having the "no smoking" sign burned into the image of the film your trying to watch or something you know?
7) Damned awesome lan, best one so far. keep them coming…
..

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Offline1) Pawsome!
2) Nice and big, impressive facilities and of course an open bar :D
3) American Sweets down the road as well as easy access to fast food was a majot plus (Burgers on out doorstep too!)
4) I'm not sure I heard shouting at 3am but I was pretty passed out that night, however on the snoring I shall volunteer myself into the chair cupboard next time :P
5) FASTER INTERNETS!
6) Robot Ninjas
7) One of the best LANS so far, hope we can get the dates in April!
1) Overall feeling about J10:
Excellent comeback for the LAN. Really enjoyed it!
2) What you thought about the new venue:
New venue is excellent for all reasons stated above, having an on-site carpark was good as well, although Selbourne is a local town, I never liked leaving my car in that dark car park for a couple of days on it's own.
3) Favourite part / feature / aspect:
Lack of movies on projector. I know that's an odd thing to say, but to a certain extent, I've always thought movies on the projector is a distraction from the gaming…
More useful Hall space- there was a lot more room for sleeping at this one, no one had to curl up in the hall way or some other place where they were in the way of everyone. And the kitchen being where it was, the door wasn't being opened to bring a freezing draft in every five minutes.
4) Least favourite part / feature / aspect:
Sounds lame I know, but I didn't like having my PC on the floor. Was constantly worried about it getting knocked or kicked by something hitting it, or the chair being pushed in by someone passing, etc etc. The round tables were novel, but having long tables so we can have the PCs up out of the way would be nice…
5) Things you would like to see improved / changed the most:
A bit more game structure- people are lazy when no one tells them what to play. There should be some kind of rough schedule so someone stands up and say EVERYONE PLAY L4D2! If someone really doesn't want to, then they don't have to, but it'll encourage everyone to get on the same game, and that means bigger teams, more fun.
6) Anything new you would like to see:
I think there might be some milage in the Firewall idea some of us were bouncing around, a gateway machine (server does DHCP, assigns Firewall box as Gateway, Firewall box NATs to Router) to control internet flow. A little Quality of Service may help us make the best of what little internet there is, so steam can properly connect. Just a thought…
7) Any other feedback you wish to make:
As above, excellent comeback for a LAN series that was having difficulties.
Thanks for all the great feedback so far! i'll try to address as much feedback as possible below, in terms of my personal opinion, and what we can try to do to improve on things:

Tables at the new venue was always going to be a weird situation. We knew from the start when we booked that they hall only had large round tables, and only 2x 6ft long tables but we thought we would try it and see how it worked out. As it turns out people seemed to like the slightly more "social" aspect of the round tables, however the issues we had and still have lie in cabling and situation of the pc cases as mentioned. It does seem to provide more room for people to relax and spread out though.
Unfortunatley there isn't a whole deal we can do with the tables i'm afraid, as they have no central hole to run cables through, meaning we can't put cases on the desks. As the hall have no other tables they can provide, it would mean hiring 8 or 10 6ft tables to support just 20 participants, which would again bump up ticket prices to cover hire costs :(
If there is anything we can do about it further down the line then we will certainly look into it!

This feedback i'm going to class under "internet feedback" as pretty much everyone has mentioned that they would like faster or better internet at the venue. As much as i'd love to say…but it's a lan you don't need internet, unfortunatley more and more games, STEAM especially rely on internet connections in order to run and allow you to connect (even to lan) games properly. In terms of getting an upgraded internet line at the venue – the chances are unfortunatley quite slim 'm afraid. I must admit though that the internet, although quite slow, was still a lot better than what we had at the old venue, and actually lets us connect to steam! :D
What Latency mentioned is a very good idea, and one that was mentioned between a few of us at the end of J10. It's a solution that we're looking to put in place for J11 in order to make the internet a little more usable to everyone by restricting certain aspects (possibly things like youtube streaming etc). Unfortunatley something like this wasn't possible at the old venue due to the router being closed off I believe. We will keep you posted on updates to this.

First up – Stickers will make a return at J11!
Ok Tournaments…You'll all be happy to know that It's something we would love to do again at J11! We need to look into it properly first, however the idea about maybe adding an extra £1-2 onto ticket price or even doing a sort of "pot" at the lan itself where people put money in if they want to play is good. We will let you know as soon as we have more info on this :)

Sounds good to me dude! However, I clearly feel like backdated stickers for J10 is in order too :O It'd just look odd starting from 11.. ;) :D
